Target Date Funds May Be Hurting Some Retirement Investors

The increased popularity of target date funds means more investors are exposed to the adverse impact of a market decline than during the market correction of 2008, says Ron Surz, who is president of Target-Date Solutions.

In a recent ThinkAdvisor article, Surz maintains that many target date funds for investors nearing retirement have unacceptably high levels of equity exposure.
