Pandemic Hurting Women’s Retirement Prospects: Survey

The gender gap in retirement savings is not a new issue. However, the pandemic has made things worse for women, with some dubbing it the “she-cession.” So reports NBC News.

person 801823 640In fact, three of every four women with at least $100,000 in investable assets say the pandemic has hurt their ability to retire, according to a survey of 2,500 investors by the Nationwide Retirement Institute. The survey was conducted online between May 17 and June 25.

The survey also found that women may be less protected during times of market volatility and may be at greater risk of outliving their assets.
