In a scathing and sarcastic column in Financial Planning, writer Bob Veres lashes out at the brokerage industry for blocking a proposal to extend the fiduciary standard to registered reps.

He wrote the column from the perspective of the broker-dealer industry and claims 2014 was a successful year for blocking efforts to protect investors.
