FA Gets 16+ Years in Jail for Defrauding Dad, Other Clients

North Carolina FA Russell Joseph Mutter has been sentenced to at least 16 years and three months in jail for defrauding clients, including his dad, out of more than $3 million. So reports the Associated Press.

prison icon 2071965 640 smallMutter could face up to a maximum of 22 years and six months in prison for swindling clients out of funds in retirement and investment accounts. Mutter had pleaded guilty to 41 felonies, but the judge consolidated them into three counts. Investigators identified 12 victims.

He’s also been permanently barred from handling others’ investment or retirement accounts.
