GAO Wants Higher Bar for Accredited Investors

A recent Government Accountability Office report says the definition of an accredited investor should be made more stringent. So reports Reuters.

The standard, which is used to determine who is eligible to invest in certain risky investments, requires individuals to have $1 million in net worth. With the exception of a recent change that excludes the value of homes, the standard hasn’t been revised since the 1980’s.
