90-Year Old FA Who Shot Biz Partner Has Died

Leonard David Bernstein, 90, who was fired from Morgan Stanley on July 1 after he shot his business partner in their Oklahoma City office, has died.

Leonard David BernsteinBernstein was accused of fleeing the scene after shooting Chris Bayouth multiple times with a .380 caliber handgun. Bernstein and Bayouth had been business partners for about nine months, but Bernstein’s health had recently been declining and he’d agreed to move his accounts to his partner.

“At the end of Leonard’s long and exemplary life, he unfortunately struggled with mental health issues,” notes an online obituary.

The cause of death was not released, but the police told ThinkAdvisor that it is “not investigating the death as anything criminal in nature.”

Bernstein is survived by his second wife Dianne, who he married in 1983, and her two children (who he accepted as his own) as well as his three children from his first marriage.
