Strippers: A Missed Client Base for FAs?

Financial advisors may want to consider recruiting strippers as clients. That’s according to a recent column from Think Advisor.

stripper 145191 640Stripper Financial Planning founder Lindsey Swanson says she finds value in “working with stigmatized groups and in markets that aren’t overly saturated,” adding there are “millions” of sex workers in need of financial advice. Swanson is a fee-only certified financial planner who charges a flat $350 monthly fee. She applies the same theory to her clientele as others do to athlete clients, who often have short-lived primary careers.

Swanson says she helps clients who start “aging out” of sex work to “an allied job in the industry, such as coaching” or a totally different business altogether, such as fashion or nursing.
