Ed Jones Settles with Advisor Who Quit, Locked Staff Out of Office

Edward Jones has reached a confidential settlement with Russell Ryon Riggan, one of its FAs who resigned abruptly after 15 years with the firm only to set up shop next door as a broker for Raymond James. The deal was reached on June 3. So reports Financial Advisor IQ.

Edward JonesRiggan, who managed $500 million for Edward Jones in Texas, also reportedly locked the rest of the office’s staff out and took all of its furniture. Edward Jones sough and was granted a temporary restraining order.

The Edwards Jones office is located in a building owned by Riggan, under the name RhettKyn LLC/Riggan. The settlement does not apply to claims by Edward Jones against RhettKyn.

Both Edward Jones and Raymond James, which is not involved in the lawsuit, declined comment for the article.
