Many athletes and celebrities have often fallen victim to corrupt advisors in recent years. Now, Merrill Lynch Wealth Management and the College for Financial Planning have launched the Sports & Entertainment Accredited Wealth Management Advisor program. So reports Think Advisor.
It is a new designation program designed for wealth advisors dealing with the unique challenges of professional athletes and entertainers. It is the first program of its kind from an accredited college and aiming to train advisors on dealing with the needs of pro athletes, such as growing, preserving and transferring their wealth.
The program will be open to only Merrill advisors through May 2022.
