She closed her Schwab account and sought to transfer the balance to a Fidelity account. Following the mistaken transfer, Spadoni reportedly moved the money from the Fidelity account to another account and also used some of the funds for a car and a home.
Spadoni was arrested and charged with theft of items valued over $25,000, bank fraud and illegal transmission of monetary funds. She was also reportedly fired from her job as a dispatcher in the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office in New Orleans.
Schwab is also suing Spadoni for return of the funds.
