Divorce typically increases individuals’ ranking on the National Retirement Risk Index by 7 percentage points compared to the 2008 financial crisis, which increased individuals ranking by 9 percentage points. So reports CNBC.

The findings come from researchers at Boston College. The increased risk from divorce is a result of attorney fees, the costs of selling homes, and no longer having two incomes.
