Even Sophisticated Investors Can’t Pick Winning Mutual Funds

A recent study titled “Detecting Superior Mutual Fund Managers: Evidence from Copycats” has concluded that even professional investors are unable to pick winning mutual funds. So reports the Huffington Post.

The study tracked mutual funds that mimic the stock selection of other funds, or target funds, and found that the returns of targeted funds frequently soured after the portfolios started to be used as models by copycat funds.
